Reflective Journal #1: Thoughts on first class

Teaching is a mission not a job. In all my life, i always keep my sentence in my mind. i have been teaching for about 27 years. during these days, i always care about bringing up my students politely and perfectly concerning their behavior. i used a traditional way by giving orders. i told my students to do so and so and not to do so and so. even in teaching i used a traditional way which is useless now.
once, a student refused to write in his/her notebook and wrote the lesson in his mobile. another student asked him to send it in a message. i was astonished for what was happening. i found myself facing new way of teaching, learning and responding to instructions. also when once of my students asked to teach them. i realized that everything is changing and i must change.
my mission should be different. now after two courses, how i change my learning through activities and fun.

I expect in this course to learn about school activities especially with the huge number of our students.

  1. I am reposting my comment from your other blog, teaching is a mission:

Great to finally see your blog, Sahar! You did it. You have begun to communicate with others through your blog. Fantastic! I love that you have come to a realisation that you need to change. And you know what? Your students can help you to make that change. You need to be open to them being the teachers and showing you the way. Think of how engaging that would be for them! Ask them what they want to learn, how they want to learn it, and how they could help you and their classmates learn it using the technology. You are in for a great time! Enjoy!
