Reflective Journal #11: presentation day :)
this is my blog. i just wanted to share my feeling and what i learned with you. sorry for interrupting the class privacy. BUT.... this day was amazing. my mother all the time takes about the class and what happened in it. she comes everyday and tell us about what is the assignment and what she has to do and so on. i was so jealous and curios to know how that class work and what you guys do there, so this was my chance and i would love to thank you for giving me the oppertiunity to come, talk with you and the class. and also that you listened to me and you made me share what i learned first. i was so happy. the class was amazing. you gave me an oppertiunity that i will never get again in my age. so thank you !! :)
about the presentation, they were amazing. they made alot of effort to get to what they want. i really appreciate what they did. as you know in Egyptian education we don't really have this skills and the facilities in our system so they can do that was awesome. i learned that "nothing can stop you" you need to continues even if you have some holes and stuff that stops you. i will not tell you the information that i learned from the smoking presentation or the diabetes or water or or or .... i will tell you what i learned from these teachers they were so good and i really appreciate their work and i hope to meet you some day again and you will be my teacher hopefully !
thank you so much for that day !

Reflective Journal #9:Brain Gym
Doing activities in class is very important to refresh students and enhance them. i like the idea of " brain Gym" that doing activities to reach some goals and objectives. Brain gym warms up the brain. It helps students who are depressed, to raise their hopes and desires. today we did physical activity in our lecture. although i don't know the purpose of it, it helps to create fun in class which helps to refresh the students.
we all miss lamis in out lecture today. we miss her opinions and comments.

Reflective Journal #8:mobil phones in adult literacy education classroom
this is the link for the video. you can watch it first. it is such an interesting video
the link is : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JbN16oL3Ho
through this video teachers had a great ideas how to use the Mobil in the classroom in a good way in education. they suggest that students can work in a group and interview each other and send it by voice mall to the teacher by that they will be able to speak and work in a team. another teacher said that students also can listen to different conversation and practice listening. one of the teacher said that the students love to text, so he will use that to help them get good at writing and by that they can be good at spelling there was a teacher that loved to listen to her students in order she can get to know their mistakes and they can correct it at home. all these ideas are good and it can help the students learn in a very good way and funny. they can learn by using technology.
Reflective Journal #7: the reminder woke me up
Hi my colleges, i am the new sahar. be aware of me. now i woke up after the good grade i had in the first Journal. now i know how to use Blogger,APA, turn it in and more are coming.:DD this is the fun part. lets write seriously, it is very important that the teachers keep on waking, reminding and helping their students to get back to the right road. As the Dr remind us of the grades and how you will be jugged and that woke me up more and now i should concentrate more to get better grade and be more proud of my self.
Reflective Journal #6: the APA
Every class is different. this time the Dr gave us sheets and books to write the name if the reference in APA. in my group Shaima wrote it, i couldn't understand what she was doing but with a little bit concentration, i recognized that it was very easy and also important to write the reference to avoid plagiarism and you should give the credit to the person who made that. i am proud of myself to know such thing. i keep asking everyone do you know what is APA some of my friends didn't know but now i know so i can teach them .
Reflective Journal #5: Drawing learning communities
this is the first time i come 15 minutes late to class. i hope it will be the last. when i entered i found my colleges were drawing. i was in a loss, with the help of Dr i started drawing. During the discussion i told them that both the community and school affect each other negatively i was blamed by Mrs. Noha that i had a pessimistic view and a teacher shouldn't be so. we should be optimistic to reflect this on my students.
Reflective Journal #4: Hands on the wall
i think it is exactly the time for hands on the wall. honestly, i think i should give up the course. i think i will finish this diploma at the time of retirement. so it comes to me to stop. i got up early everyday, went to school, with all its struggle and problems. then i had very crowded traffic to reach Tahrir square. the Dr asked us to use "Blogger" which was a miracle for me. then she asked us to write Journal and do project and so......
when we started the activity that the Dr asked us to stand and raise our hands to reach the top points actually at the beginning i didn't understand the purpose, i felt board and made my hands down. but with the Dr's enthusiasm and determination to raise again, i collected myself and removed the chair and all the obstacles in front of me to reach the highest point. now i tried to get what i missed to reach the highest point.
Reflective Journal #3: doing a project is a new experience
when the Dr asked us to do a project, I thought it was very difficult. i thought it would waste my time and also my students. I hesitate to do such a new thing in teaching and learning community. then i tried to arrange my plans and thoughts to get it well. to my surprise that the moment i told my students that we have a project, they started to suggest topics and do everything by themselves. they made groups, chose the leaders. i was just watching them surprisingly, how happy are my students with this such new experiences. if i succeed i will keep on trying and doing and developing every year.
Reflective Journal #2: at last, I learnt it !
I am extremely happy that at last i know how to use the blogger well. Actually it was a challenge to me to keep trying and trying until i got the goal. If a person believe that something is difficult and never try to do it, he/she will not improved. i as a teacher will teach my students that nothing is difficult if one insist of trying and keep saying i can..... so from now on blogger will reflect my thoughts and achievements.

Reflective Journal #1: Thoughts on first class
Teaching is a mission not a job. In all my life, i always keep my sentence in my mind. i have been teaching for about 27 years. during these days, i always care about bringing up my students politely and perfectly concerning their behavior. i used a traditional way by giving orders. i told my students to do so and so and not to do so and so. even in teaching i used a traditional way which is useless now.
once, a student refused to write in his/her notebook and wrote the lesson in his mobile. another student asked him to send it in a message. i was astonished for what was happening. i found myself facing new way of teaching, learning and responding to instructions. also when once of my students asked to teach them. i realized that everything is changing and i must change.
my mission should be different. now after two courses, how i change my learning through activities and fun.
I expect in this course to learn about school activities especially with the huge number of our students.
